A platform recently pitched us AI voice agents that would speak with experts and take calls on our behalf. The hook was that The Continental Exchange needs to catch up and follow the world's largest expert networks, which are already piloting the technology.
My take: let the largest networks spend their R&D dollars and their time on it. We'll take another look in two years, when the fourth and fifth generations of these tools are out.
An expert call works because two people are in the conversation. The expert hears a real question from someone who understands the work, and the person asking can follow a thread, push back or change course in real time. That's where the insight comes from.
In a world of supercomputing and AI in everything, we're betting hard on preserving and cherishing real-time human interaction.
